Batteries
- What is the best type of batteries should I buy for my Samsung Digimax A7? That camera can take either 2 AA size batteries, rechargeable or non-rechargeable, or a CR-V3 type battery. If you are looking for batteries that will last a very long time, go for the CR-V3 Lithium battery. This battery last longer than 2 AA Lithium batteries. 2 AA Lithium batteries last a bit longer than 2 AA Ni-MH batteries. But you can recharge the Ni-MH batteries and re-use them again and again. The final choice comes down to you, your budget and how you intend to use your camera. For more information on batteries click here.
Reviewing Your Photos
- After I have taken a photo with my digital camera, I can zoom in on the picture and move it left, right, up and down. If I zoom in on something then take a picture, can I still zoom in when viewing that picture? Yes. When you zoom in on your subject before you take your photo you are using your camera's lens to bring the subject closer. When reviewing you photo that you have saved on your memory card or in the camera's memory, you can still zoom in (magnify) and look around as you are now using the software built into your camera. It acts like a magnifying glass, hence the usual magnifying glass symbol.
Cold Weather Photography
- My friend is going to Lapland at the end of November. As the temp will be way below zero what does she need to know re taking her digital camera? The first piece of advice is to use lithium batteries as they withstand the cold much better than any other type of battery. Carry spares and keep them warm. The second piece of advice is to keep the camera from freezing. Keep your camera in a soft case and wear it near your body, but don't let it get too warm and sweaty or it will freeze when exposed. My friend who climbed Kilimanjaro kept his camera in his backpack. Only take it out when you need to take a photo, then put it away. If exposed for too long it will freeze up. Moving your camera from a warm place to a cold place may cause condensation so try to keep the camera at a constant temperature, and dry. TIP. If wearing mitts or thick gloves to keep your hands warm, try wearing thin lining gloves so you can remove your main gloves to take pictures. Keep your main gloves clipped to your jacket sleeve or strapped to your wrists.
